PointClickCare Adds ePrescribing and Physician Encounters to its Practitioner Engagement Solution
PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software platform for the senior care market, announced today at the AMDA Annual Conference that it has launched the latest version of its Practitioner Engagement Solution. The new enhancements, including ePrescribing and Physician Encounters, will play a significant role in helping nurse practitioners and physicians to better collaborate on care decisions and make recommendations in a more timely and efficient manner.
“Our customers need technology solutions that will allow them to work collaboratively across the entire care team to deliver quality care in an efficient and secure manner that is compliant with industry regulations,” says Terri Weckle, senior vice president of Strategic Products with PointClickCare. “Our enhanced Practitioner Engagement Solution is designed to help physicians and providers to achieve this goal by enabling them to receive more accurate and timely information, and ensure better connected and coordinated care, regardless of their location.”
PointClickCare’s latest Practitioner Engagement solution enables practitioners and physicians to electronically co-sign orders, view charts and participate in secure HIPAA-compliant text conversations. The new enhancements, designed to improve access to information, better streamline communications and replace traditional paper-based processes that were error-prone and time consuming, include:
- ePrescribing – Physicians and nurse practitioners now have the ability to electronically prescribe directly from a mobile device, leading to a more efficient medication management workflow, without compromising resident safety.
- Physician Encounters – Physicians are now able to add progress notes directly into the Practitioner Engagement application, ensuring the entire care team has immediate access to relevant information related to a resident’s health status and care plan.
“Mobile tools and strategies play a significant role in the way care is delivered, creating efficiencies for the physician, the care provider and the facility as a whole,” says Matthew Wayne, MD, chief medical officer, CommuniCare Family of Companies. “PointClickCare’s Practitioner Engagement Solution moves the needle in the right direction with improving quality of care, reducing potential resident health risks, and giving healthcare providers the ability to exchange information and make better care decisions in real-time.”
PointClickCare Practitioner Engagement allows providers to have greater confidence in care information, and enables a person-centered approach to care, meaning the information follows the patient across the senior care continuum.
