New York’s Morris Heights Health Center Live with eClinicalWorks
eClinicalWorks, a leader in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, today announces that New York’s Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC), a level three National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)-recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home, is live using eClinicalWorks comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) solution for its nearly 200 providers. The organization will also be utilizing eClinicalWorks CCMR for population health management. This technology will assist MHHC in coordinating care across the continuum as well as evaluating population health and quality improvement activities. Patients will also be able to access their personal health records (PHR) through the use of the patient portal and healow smartphone application.
“Our goal is for Morris Heights to be the vanguard for quality, affordable and accessible healthcare for all,” said Gabriel M. Vonleh, MHA, President and CEO of Morris Heights Health Center. “We looked for a system that would help us align with new models of care and promote care coordination. After seeing eClinicalWorks, we were impressed with way it handled care coordination – true care coordination with providers, payers, referrals and patients. The onsite resources provided by eClinicalWorks during implementation were valuable to the project’s success, including establishing a new tactic that yielded tremendous results in our revenue cycle efficacy. This technology will assist us with maximizing patient care, enhancing communication between providers and patients and accomplishing various other performance goals.”
Through combined efforts of eClinicalWorks and MHHC, implementation finished organization-wide within a few months, successfully going live at the same time as ICD-10 went into effect. The eClinicalWorks EHR solution streamlines processes for MHHC between practices, allowing critical information to be accessible at the point of care as well as improve overall efficiency and communications. Health centers such as MHHC utilize a fully-integrated technology platform that encompasses medical, dental and behavioral modules for more effectively treating their patients across settings. Benefits of the technology will be extended through telemedicine functionality, a patient portal and healow, an initiative established to further enhance and expand patient engagement. eClinicalWorks will also aid MHHC providers in tracking, measuring and reporting HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) quality metrics.
eClinicalWorks CCMR will provide MHHC with visibility into a patient’s care across all settings, facilitate smooth transitions of care, engage patients and providers in preventative care, improve outcomes among populations and reduce costs. A vendor-neutral, open network securely connects ambulatory EHRs with hospital in-patient systems and payer claim feeds, including CMS, to provide cost and utilization for services delivered to patients.
“Morris Heights Health Center is a well-regarded healthcare organization with an exceptional system of care,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “Partnering with eClinicalWorks enables providers with this organization to benefit from the enhanced features we have included to meet the requirements of community health centers. Our suite of solutions will enable Morris Heights Health Center to have a more complete view of its patients’ information across settings. Working together, providers at Morris Heights will experience true care coordination and improved communication between patients and providers, thereby enhancing patient care.”
