Essia Health Adds Health IT Veterans to Board of Directors, Executive Management Team
Essia Health, the premier provider of electronic medical record (EMR) go-live support services and specially trained medical scribes, today announced that Anita Pramoda, CEO of TangramCare and former chief financial officer of Epic Systems Corporation, has been appointed to the company’s board of directors, and William Moore has joined as chief financial officer, bringing an extensive background in health IT and corporate finance.
“As veterans of the health IT and financial industries, Anita and William bring valuable expertise as we work to enhance and expand our solutions that help our customers optimize their use of electronic medical records,” said Matthew Kirchner, president and chief executive officer, Essia Health. “Given the dominance of Epic in the healthcare EMR space and its growth during Anita’s tenure, we look forward to drawing upon her insights to expand Essia Health’s medical scribe and EMR implementation businesses. In addition to understanding health IT, William brings experience in venture capital as well as with private and public companies and has played a key role in helping them meet their business goals.”
A recognized leader in the healthcare IT space and proponent of using technology to improve the patient experience, Pramoda currently serves as co-founder and CEO of TangramCare, a company where mobile technology is used to address the gap between prevalence, diagnosis and care in patient behaviors. She was recently chief financial officer at Epic Systems Corporation, a healthcare IT company that provides electronic medical records for over 40 percent of the U.S. population, where she led the company through a period of significant domestic market growth, expansion into the governmental and international markets and launch into mobile health IT solutions. Prior to Epic, Pramoda helped commercialize self-healing packaging technology into wholesale, retail and military sectors at Ontech. Earlier in her career, Pramoda worked with companies in the technology and healthcare sectors on a variety of strategic advisory and financing assignments at UBS Investment Bank and served clients around the world in healthcare and life sciences at Arthur Andersen. She serves as an executive advisor at Technology Crossover Ventures, and is on the boards at Allscripts, Dignity Health Foundation and now Essia Health. She earned her MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.
With more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, strategic transactions and executive management across a broad base of industries, Moore brings a strong financial background to his role as chief financial officer. Prior to joining Essia Health, he served as the chief financial officer of 4medica, a leading provider of cloud-based clinical data exchange. He has held a number of senior leadership finance roles, including interim chief financial officer and vice president of finance for Mood Media, a digital music company where he completed its initial public offering on the Toronto stock exchange. He served as vice president of finance at Platinum Equity, where he played a key role in raising the firm’s $700 million first-time fund and managing the firm’s $4 billion revenue portfolio. Moore began his career with Ernst and Young in assurance services in various industries, including technology, healthcare, and manufacturing for public and private companies. He is a certified public accountant and a member of various trade and industry associations.
