CalHIPSO Partners with 4Medapproved to Offer Discounted HIT and HIPAA Educational Services
OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 15, 2013 — The California Health Information Partnership and Services Organization (CalHIPSO), has partnered with 4Medapproved to offer clinicians and practice managers discounted high quality, online courses and education related to health information technology and compliance in areas that complement CalHIPSO’s current line of Health eServices.
“Our partnership with 4Medapproved helps us respond to our members’ need for comprehensive HIT training and practice compliance,” said CalHIPSO Chief Development Officer, Karynsue Rose-Thomas. “The HITECH act spurred exponential growth in EHR use and a subsequent need for practices to provide related education and compliance training to their entire team of clinicians and staff.” She notes particular interest in the HIPAA privacy and security rule trainings. “HIPAA is complicated, and entities covered by the new Omnibus rule are required to be in full compliance by September 23, so our ability to offer this training now is very timely,” she notes.
4Medapproved provides online training and certifications in healthcare IT and compliance areas including Meaningful Use, HIPAA, ICD-10 among others. Courses are delivered in a way that is designed to meet the needs of busy healthcare professionals with practical lessons that apply to real-world health IT and compliance issues. The 4Med educational approach incorporates text lessons, multimedia content, and review assessments, along with hands-on practice sessions utilizing a live, certified EHR solution. All courses are modular, allowing students to learn at their own pace from any location. Courses also qualify for continuing education units (CEUs).
“We are pleased to partner with CalHIPSO, a recognized leader in assisting clinicians with HIT adoption, to provide timely, relevant online education and content tailored specifically to the needs and schedules of busy healthcare professionals,” said Kevin Donnelly, CEO of 4Medapproved. “Education is a critical underpinning for realization of the benefits of HIT and related programs such as Meaningful Use and ICD 10, along with avoidance of risks associated with privacy and security of patient data.” “Our partnership provides these resources on demand to CalHIPSO’s provider community.”
