Annual HIMSS Media Healthcare Business Intelligence Forum Shares New Details for 2014 Program
HIMSS Media, today announced program details of the second annual Healthcare Business Intelligence Forum, to be held April 16-17, 2014, at the Renaissance Washington in Washington, D.C.
Early details of the 2014 program have been released, including news of a keynote address presented by Dr. Glenn Steele, President and CEO of Geisinger Health System, one of the nation’s largest integrated delivery networks. Named as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare, Steele has turned Geisinger Health System into a leader in using data contained within the EHR to improve patient care quality. During his keynote, Steele will share what he sees as the sweet spot in the evolution of healthcare: combining data and behavior change to improve both patient care and the bottom line.
Full of engaging and educational content, the two-day Forum – formerly the Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum – focuses on how healthcare providers can take their data analysis to the next level. Select early and confirmed sessions include presentations from:
- Robert Williams, Director of Deloitte Consulting LLP, who will detail how asking the right questions is vital to maximizing the return-on-investment of the technology and analytics deployed.
- Sean Kennedy, Director of the Health Information Exchange for the Massachusetts eHealth Institute, and Nicole Heim, CIO-Information Systems for the Milford Regional Medical Center, who will present a best-case scenario for developing a comprehensive Health Information Exchange strategy.
- Ray Hess, Vice President Information Management, Penn Medicine – Chester County Hospital, will discuss how hospitals can leverage their own clinical and business intelligence to effectively identify those patients most at risk before discharge and develop appropriate interventions.
More than 14 educational sessions will be presented. Additional sessions will cover topics such as data integration and governance; clinical and business analytics; data warehousing; predictive analytics; and analytics and healthcare reform.
“The 2014 program will once again showcase leading experts sharing how to leverage Big Data to transform organizations,” said John Whelan, vice president. “This sneak-peek into the Forum’s sessions should signal to healthcare executives, directors and decision-makers that HBIF is the place to be in 2014 to find out how to harness the power of Business Intelligence for their organizations.”
