Informedika and CalHIPSO Announce Partnership to Bring Efficient and Secure Diagnostic Ordering Systems to Doctors throughout California

OAKLAND, Calif. & SUNNYVALE, Calif. – October 24, 2013 – Today, Silicon Valley-based Informedika, the only HIPAA-compliant medical marketplace offering direct online connections to nationwide labs and diagnostic facilities, is pleased to announce a partnership with the California Health Information Partnership and Services Organization (CalHIPSO), a federally funded-regional extension center that helps providers in California navigate the complicated world of electronic health record adoption. Currently CalHIPSO serves more than 10,000 providers and professional support staff all over the state.

Informedika offers a healthcare marketplace that enables physicians to efficiently discover healthcare providers and electronically order diagnostic lab tests, radiology studies, physical therapy and home health services among others, while reducing costs, accelerating order requests, and improving patient relations overall.

“With the new partnership between Informedika and CalHIPSO, we are able to correct the diagnostic disconnect that many physicians were experiencing, thus providing them a one-stop-shop that saves them time and money, while staying compliant,” offers Steven Yaskin, founder of Informedika. “We’re excited to help these doctors with a modern solution that can provide real-time results and ultimately improve patient relations and office infrastructure.”

Informedika, which has integrated other HIPAA-compliant technologies including DocuSign and Box, will be able to satisfy the government Meaningful Use requirement of electronic diagnostic orders in time for their partnership launch with CalHIPSO’s network. Through the Informedika platform, DocuSign automates important, yet historically inefficient, paper-based healthcare processes, allowing for lab orders and diagnostics tests to be securely ordered, delivered, and signed-off on by doctors and patients 100 percent digitally. Additionally, users will have the ability to access their Box account to securely share and file test results and other medical documents.

“Through this partnership with Informedika, CalHIPSO is responding to a pain point for our provider members,” notes Speranza Avram, CEO of CalHIPSO. “The Informedika technology simplifies diagnostic lab ordering and test results, accelerating the ability of our physicians to meet meaningful use in 2014. We’re thrilled with the opportunity to offer this value-add platform. Informedika will complement the systems of providers already using an EHR and be an entrée into HIT for those that are still using paper health records.”
