WorldOne and Sermo Complete U.S. Integration, Paves Way for Global Expansion

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — WorldOne, the global leader in healthcare data collection, insights and intelligence, has completed the integration of its U.S. physician network on the Sermo community platform. In July 2012, WorldOne acquired Sermo, the largest online community of fully verified, licensed physicians in the U.S. Sermo now boasts over 200,000 members, who are united by the company’s mission to improve healthcare globally.

“We are extremely proud of the 200,000 member milestone, but it is just a starting point in cultivating this very special ‘community with a purpose’ dedicated to improving patient outcomes,” said Peter Kirk, WorldOne Founder and CEO. “The shared altruistic goal of Sermo members to improve patient outcomes – and their underlying trust in their peers – is enough of an incentive to help each other in a moment of need. We look forward to bringing iConsult and other clinical tools and resources to physicians around the world.”

As part of the Health 2.0 Annual Fall Conference in Santa Clara, Calif., WorldOne will present a case study featuring Floating Doctors, an international relief group using Sermo’s iConsult web and mobile application. iConsult brings physicians together to consult and collaborate on cases in real-time, crowdsourcing their insights and expertise to diagnose and treat individual patients in the moment, anytime, anywhere in the world.
