South Nassau Communities Hospital Expands Allscripts Sunrise With Anesthesiology to Clinicians’ iPads

South Nassau Communities Hospital chose Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX) to provide its anesthesia information management system (AIMS). The solution, iPro Anesthesia from iProcedures, integrates with the Allscripts Sunrise electronic health record (EHR) to ensure a complete and continuous patient record anywhere anesthesia care is provided.

Anesthesia is an important part of the EHR, and the addition of iPro Anesthesia will further leverage South Nassau Communities Hospital’s Allscripts Sunrise investment. South Nassau Communities Hospital will deploy the solution in all of its operating rooms and labor and delivery rooms.

iPro Anesthesia is an intuitive, easy-to-use, AIMS platform designed by anesthesiologists for anesthesiologists. This platform helps anesthesiologists adhere to changing compliance and regulatory measures while maintaining traditional workflow. The solution offers an end-to-end dynamic AIMS solution with instant access to data, and its multi-modular platform fits the needs of virtually every hospital size and practice setting.

“The mobile AIMS solution will complement our Allscripts Sunrise EHR and offer a single patient record that is complete, comprehensive, and powerful,” said Jonathan Singer, MD, chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital. “This integration, along with the ability for anesthesiologists to document anywhere anesthesia care is provided, will help improve operating room efficiency and patient care.”

“The integration of iPro Anesthesia into Allscripts Sunrise addresses the reality of today’s anesthesia care environment,” said President, International and Sunrise Business Unit of Allscripts Rich Berner. “Our clients see anesthesiology as integral to their surgical solution, and with many anesthesia procedures performed outside of the operating room, mobility and the ability to document on the EHR anywhere, any time is critical.”

Allscripts Sunrise is an integral component in a successful population health EHR solution that brings together clinical and revenue cycle management across the campus, the enterprise and the community in one unified database. Allscripts Sunrise solutions include a single EHR for emergency, inpatient and ambulatory care settings as well as platforms for patient engagement and consent management. Used by many of the leading hospitals and health systems in the world, Allscripts Sunrise is built decision-support first, offering customizable clinician-specific workflows and clinical decision support that can lead to improved outcomes.

iProcedures provides software solutions to streamline the perioperative workflow. iProcedures bridges gaps in current enterprise workflow by providing innovative technology solutions, which increase productivity and provide effective, focused, clinical care.
