Optimized Care Network (OCN) is naming Joe Favazzo, of Columbus, Chief Operating Officer of the company. Favazzo, the former founder and CEO of Modern Medical, Inc., is now responsible for daily operations of OCN, a Columbus-based digital health company providing one-of-a-kind technology that allows patients to connect with the most qualified medical specialists anywhere in the world.

In his new role, Favazzo will focus on developing internal organization processes and infrastructure at the four-year-old organization. He will also oversee financial management and oversight, human resources and operations.

Prior to joining Optimized Care Network, Favazzo founded Modern Medical, a workers’ compensation services company based in Lewis Center.  Under his 27 years of leadership at Modern Medical, the company grew from a single product line to include all healthcare services focused on the injured claimant. It also experienced periods of double digit organic growth and employed over 120 people in the Columbus area and across the United States. In 2013, Favazzo sold the company, which is now owned by UnitedHealth Group.

Favazzo’s vision and leadership won Modern Medical a Corporate Caring Award from Columbus Business First in 2012 and a finalist nomination for outstanding innovation product of the year with Rev1 Ventures in 2013. Favazzo previously served on the Board of Directors for OCN and invested in the company in 2014.
