[October 11, 2016 – San Francisco, CA] – Lightning Bolt Solutions, the leading provider of automated physician shift scheduling, today announced a new enterprise subscription agreement with WakeMed Physician Practices, a network of nearly 300 physicians that operates as part of WakeMed Health & Hospitals located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
As part of the agreement, Lightning Bolt will interface MD Interconnect’s cloud-based mobile and web application called RapidConnect. The RapidConnect solution – which is being rolled out to all physicians and caregivers across the WakeMed system – allows for faster communication between hospital and community healthcare providers, improving patient care and efficiency as well as integrating call schedules. Working with RapidConnect, Lightning Bolt enhances workflow communications across more than 20 practices within WakeMed Physician Practices.
“Together, Lightning Bolt and RapidConnect help WakeMed streamline the clinical communication process by bringing together communication technology with accurate physician schedules,” says Carolyn Knaup, senior vice president, WakeMed Physician Practices and Ambulatory Services. “Investment in these technologies furthers WakeMed’s commitment to support our medical staffs and to deliver high-quality care to our community through well-coordinated services, enhanced communication and readily available data and schedules.”
“Lightning Bolt standardizes on-call scheduling for WakeMed Physician Practices, improving transparency and increasing efficiency across care teams,” says Gavin Yoder, vice president of sales for Lightning Bolt Solutions. “By teaming up with RapidConnect, we are able to transform hospital operations by streamlining physician coordination and communication to advance patient care.”
Lightning Bolt’s interface with the cloud-based RapidConnect platform combines accurate on-call scheduling data with reliable and secure communications via desktop or smartphone for physicians on the go.
The partnership between Lightning Bolt and RapidConnect allows WakeMed Physician Practices to:
· Use one platform for posting of all on-call schedules
· Increase efficiency by linking the RapidConnect communications tool with physicians who are actually working at the time
· Optimize staff efficiency and clinical resource utilization
“RapidConnect is a purpose-built technology for the clinical setting,” says Karen Hohenstein, CEO of MD Interconnect. “Partnering with Lightning Bolt ensures clinicians are accessing accurate scheduling data so that secure messages get to the right person, at the right time the first time.”
