Lakeland Regional Health Systems Expands Allscripts TouchWorks EHR and Suite of Solutions for Clinics
Lakeland Regional Health Systems (LRHS) has informed Allscripts that it is expanding its use of Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) suite of electronic health record (EHR) solutions and services to help manage operations and coordinate patient care within the hospital system’s growing network of clinics and clinicians.
LRHS is expanding its use of Allscripts TouchWorks™ ambulatory EHR and Allscripts Practice Management™ clinical and operational solutions. In addition, LRHS will utilize Allscripts managed services and implement Allscripts Payerpath™ financial management software to help the organization meet the complex business needs of a growing clinical practice and patient population.
Allscripts TouchWorks was the legacy EHR, and Allscripts Practice Management was the legacy practice management software, for Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group, a large physician practice that joined LRHS’ Lakeland Regional Health Medical Group in mid-2013.
Allscripts TouchWorks is a powerful, multi-specialty ambulatory solution that offers automated clinical decision support at the point of care, a configurable clinical desktop, and nearly 800 peer-reviewed Care Guides. It is a highly customizable solution with an open architecture and efficient workflows that can help improve the patient experience.
LRHS is a full-service medical center and health system located in Lakeland, Fla. With Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC), an 851-bed not-for-profit medical center as its anchor, LRHS is the fifth largest hospital in the state of Florida, and is the busiest single site Emergency Department in the State with over 180,000 visits in FY 20131. In 2013, LRMC was recognized by Hospitals and Health Networks as a “Most Wired” Hospital. The Lakeland Regional Health Medical Group is a multispecialty practice with over 90 physicians in primary and specialty care.
Recent refinements to Allscripts TouchWorks include refinements to Support, Development and Service, which have contributed to an 11% year-over-year improvement in overall KLAS score for the year ended December 2013. During the prior twelve months, Allscripts TouchWorks registered better scores in every major category that KLAS measures for the ambulatory EHR segment.
LRHS will also expand its use of Allscripts Practice Management. Allscripts Practice Management is a comprehensive practice management solution that helps practices improve administrative workflow and maximize reimbursement. Allscripts Practice Management’s enhanced features, from registration through to collections and management reporting, deliver workflows to achieve a healthier bottom line and drive better outcomes for patients.
In addition to implementing Allscripts TouchWorks and Allscripts Practice Management, LRHS will deploy Allscripts Payerpath family of revenue cycle solutions. Allscripts Payerpath natively integrates with Allscripts Practice Management and provides highly automated claims management and other revenue cycle optimization capabilities that can help accelerate bill to collection cycle for healthcare providers.
“We are very pleased LRHS continues to choose Allscripts solutions for its medical group,” said Greg White, Senior Vice president and General Manager of Allscripts TouchWorks business unit. “Allscripts TouchWorks and Allscripts Practice Management are powerful solutions that reflect our commitment to helping our clients achieve and surpass their business, regulatory and patient care goals.”‘
