HIMSS Analytics Names Massachusetts eHealth Institute Certified Educator of Ambulatory EMR Adoption Model
HIMSS Analytics announces that MeHI, the Massachusetts eHealth Institute has been named a Certified Educator of the Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record Adoption ModelSM (A-EMRAM). MeHI is the first state agency to achieve HIMSS Analytics’ Certified Educator status.
A-EMRAM is an eight-step process that allows ambulatory facilities to analyze their level of EMR adoption, chart accomplishments, and benchmark progress against other healthcare organizations across the country. Each of the stages is measured by cumulative capabilities and all capabilities within each stage must be reached before progressing.
“We’re pleased to announce the certification of MeHI as an Ambulatory EMR Adoption Model Certified Educator,” said Blain Newton, COO, HIMSS Analytics. “This model is a catalyst for moving health IT to the next level, which complements MeHI’s mission to drive the adoption and effective use of health IT.”
Organizations achieving HIMSS Analytics Certified Educator status must pass an annual certification exam and commit to an annual educator program. This ensures they stay current with trends within the model and are equipped with the necessary knowledge to help healthcare providers advance through the various stages.
“We are excited to partner with HIMSS to incorporate the A-EMRAM model into our provider support and education programs, especially for the Behavioral Health community,” states Laurance Stuntz, Director of MeHI. “Leveraging this proven model gives Behavioral Health providers a clear roadmap to implement the advanced use of EHRs and HIE in this important sector and will enable these providers to unlock the full potential of Health IT to improve care coordination and quality of care for patients across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”
