Dr. Halee S. Fischer-Wright Named MGMA President and Chief Executive Officer
The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) announces that Dr. Halee S. Fischer-Wright, MD, MMM, FAAP, will serve as the Association’s President and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 23. For nearly 90 years, MGMA has been the largest association for medical practice administrators and executives in the U.S.
Dr. Fischer-Wright is a nationally recognized healthcare executive and physician leader and currently serves as Chief Medical Officer, St. Anthony North Health Campus (Westminster, Colo.), which is part of the Centura Health System. She started her own successful medical practice early in her career, has spent time as a management consultant, and served as president of Rose Medical Group in Denver, a 680 physician PHO/MSO for 12 years. She also co-authored the New York Times bestselling book, Tribal Leadership and is a nationally recognized speaker.

Dr. Fischer-Wright will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to MGMA and the larger healthcare industry, managing the MGMA staff and Association operations, as well as representing medical group practices and continuing to position the organization as the resource for members on critical healthcare issues. She will also be tasked with implementing the Association’s new three year strategic plan.
“Dr. Fischer-Wright’s unique expertise and experience from working in both clinical and administrative roles will be critical in helping MGMA members prepare for value based payments and leverage the full clinical and operational power of their practices to enhance patient care in their practices and position them for this success,” said Debra J. Dr. Fischer-Wright has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado and received her MD degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She has a Masters of Medical Management (MMM) from the University of Southern California and a certificate in Executive Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. She completed her internship/residency as president of the Pediatric Residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center Program.
