Blessing Hospital Expands Allscripts Footprint with Population Health, Financial Management, Patient Engagement and Homecare Solutions

CHICAGO, Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Blessing Hospital, a not-for-profit, full-service hospital based in Quincy, Ill., will leverage its Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) investment with an additional suite of Allscripts solutions to help the hospital optimize financial performance and manage the critical shift towards accountable, value-based care and population health management.

Blessing, which has been using Allscripts Sunrise Clinicals for 10 years, will deploy Allscripts dbMotion™ population health management and Allscripts Sunrise Financial Manager™ (SFM) solutions. Allscripts dbMotion integrates discrete patient data from qualifying diverse care settings, regardless of IT supplier, into a single patient record and into the provider workflow, in real-time and to the point-of-care.

SFM will help Blessing capture revenue, improve margins and drive efficiency throughout the hospital’s multi-facility system. SFM is a robust financial management solution that manages revenue in an integrated way across the enterprise, providing solutions to assist the organization in addressing constantly changing applicable regulations and payment models. SFM is built on the Allscripts Sunrise Clinicals platform and natively integrated with Allscripts Sunrise Clinicals.

Blessing has also chosen Allscripts FollowMyHealth™ patient engagement solution, which provides tools to help Blessing meet certain Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements and empower patients to become true partners in their health and wellness. Allscripts FollowMyHealth enables patients to manage their health online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and contains functionality allowing them to view test results, refill prescriptions, request appointments, pay bills, fill out forms before appointments and communicate with their doctors.

In addition, Blessing will deploy Allscripts Homecare. Allscripts Homecare provides tools that can drive better patient care across post-acute settings with integrated management of complex business demands and patient care needs. Allscripts Homecare is an easy-to-use solution with tools to help elevate clinician productivity and reduce hospital readmissions as it improves outcomes.

“We are building on our Allscripts platform, leveraging its integration to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional care for our community,” said Maureen Kahn, Chief Executive Officer of Blessing Hospital. “It will support our efforts towards better coordination, transitions of care, financial bottom line and ultimately, ensure even greater care for our patients.”

Blessing Hospital has provided care for Quincy and its surrounding community since 1875. Blessing Health System is a multi-facility system that includes Blessing Hospital, Illini Community Hospital, Blessing Physician Services, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing, The Blessing Foundation, and Denman Services, Inc.

“Blessing Hospital is another illustration of how an integrated Allscripts platform can help deliver exceptional levels of care,” said Paul M. Black, President and Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “We are pleased that Blessing has chosen Allscripts and we look forward to partnering with them to deliver great outcomes for their patients and community.”
