Black Book Ranks Cerner No. 1 HIE-Centric EHR Provider for Inpatient, Ambulatory

Cerner Corp. is once again the top performing enterprise health information exchange (HIE) supplier for inpatient/ambulatory health information technology, according to Black Book Rankings’ 2015 HIE User Survey. This marks the third consecutive year that Cerner has earned the designation.

“Long before interoperability became an industry hot topic, Cerner understood the importance of helping providers connect information across organizational, geographic and technological boundaries,” said Bob Robke, Cerner vice president for interoperability strategies and solutions, and board treasurer for CommonWell Health Alliance. “Our continued high marks from clients in the Black Book HIE user survey demonstrate that Cerner has been able to successfully break through organizational silos to connect information that can benefit providers and patients.”

Cerner was also ranked No. 1 among all HIE suppliers, for: ease of transmittal and exchange; clinical system workflow and productivity; and quality reporting and communications. Among EHR-centric HIE competitors, Cerner was ranked No. 1 in: HIE stakeholder alignment; widespread integration and flexibility; data analytics and business intelligence; and configurations and interfaces.
