AtHoc Protects Home Health Caregivers with Innovative Smart App for Duress Safety Alerts and Emergency Communications

SAN MATEO, Calif. (October 16, 2013) — AtHoc, Inc. today announced the release of its mobile application, AtHoc Home Care Alerts for personnel safety, to provide home care service organizations with mobile remote duress alerting capabilities, field reporting and geo-centric personnel tracking to strengthen the safety and security of a dispersed workforce.

With AtHoc, home health staff can report any emergency for themselves or their patients with the touch of a button on their smartphone. The right people are instantly alerted with desktop popups, text messages, emails, phone calls and smart app push notifications. All those on staff also have the option to activate location tracking any time they feel uncomfortable. With the check-in/check-out capability, supervisors are alerted to any anomalies in the employee’s schedule.

“Our latest innovation helps home health care leaders safeguard the security of their valued workforce and provides situational awareness of incidents,” said Guy Miasnik, chief executive officer at AtHoc. “AtHoc has a strong and rapidly growing presence in healthcare, helping leading providers with their day-to-day critical communications, including the entire Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Baylor Health Care Systems, Scott & White Health System and Kaiser Permanente Northern California.”

To support surging demand for AtHoc alerting products in the healthcare sector, AtHoc has expanded its management team with dedicated experts to lead the initiative. John Tempesco, senior director of healthcare operations and marketing, recently served as chief marketing officer at Informatics Corporation of America (ICA) and vice president of operations at Companion Technologies. Malcolm Carson was named healthcare business development manager and comes to AtHoc with 25 years of sales experience in the healthcare and security fields, including Harris/3M, Lanier Worldwide, Reynolds and Reynolds and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina.

“John Tempesco and Malcolm Carson bring depth of healthcare knowledge and share our commitment to customer success,” said Miasnik. “Together, we will work tirelessly to bring innovation that bridges the widening safety gap between home healthcare providers and their remote workforce.”
