Apervita Expands Management Team with Leading Health Innovation Expert
Apervita, Inc. (www.apervita.com), the fastest growing health analytics community, today announced the appointment of Tim Gustafson, M.D., as chief content officer. In his role, Dr. Gustafson will lead Apervita’s Author community and oversee the growth of content offered on Apervita’s market for health analytics, including, algorithms, measures, pathways, protocols and data focused on critical health areas, such as chronic disease management, preventable adverse events, readmissions, cancer, early warning, quality and safety.
“Tim’s wealth of experience spanning strategic, business and clinical issues, across payer, provider, pharmaceuticals and device industries, combined with his passion for shaping the future of health innovation make him the perfect person to lead the Apervita community’s growth and guide enterprises and professionals through the content publishing process,” said Paul Magelli, CEO of Apervita. “As a physician focused on innovation, Tim is uniquely qualified to encourage Authors to share their knowledge while ensuring its efficacy and trustworthiness. Tim will play a key role in cultivating the community so members can interact and improve through collaboration.”
Prior to joining Apervita, Dr. Gustafson spent ten years as a health strategy and innovation consultant, first for McKinsey and Company and more recently as a principal and expert principal at Innosight, a global innovation firm founded by noted scholar Clayton Christensen. At both firms he worked closely with Fortune 100 health enterprise leaders, across the full breadth of industry sectors on their most challenging innovation and strategy problems. In between these positions, Dr. Gustafson served as director of business operations for an early-stage contract research organization overseeing active clinical trials for major pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
“I’ve spent the past five years helping global health enterprises to innovate more disruptively,” said Dr. Gustafson. “Now with Apervita, I see Clay Christensen’s theories being fully brought to life – I believe we have the potential to transform the ways good health is delivered and promoted on a global scale, and that’s hugely exciting to me.”
Dr. Gustafson attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an internship in psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and graduated from Williams College Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology.
About Apervita
