Updox, the industry’s leading Physician Connectivity and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Platform, today announced that Amazing Charts selected the Updox NHIN Direct Messaging platform and Patient Portal to meet the ONC 2014 Edition criteria for Stage 2 Meaningful Use.

Amazing Charts provides electronic health records/electronic medical records (EHR/EMR) and services to more than 9,000 clinicians in more than 6,000 private practices. The organization will offer its clients the Updox portal for secure messaging with patients and the ability to send and receive Transitions of Care via Updox Direct. Amazing Charts users will also have the option to upgrade to the complete Updox suite for a full customer relationship management solution customized for independent physicians and medical practices.

Through this partnership, Amazing Charts will bundle the features from the Updox patient portal and Direct messaging capability into its EHR core product to give clients a path to meet Meaningful Use. If a practice chooses to upgrade to the complete Updox suite, they can add features to allow patients to schedule appointments, pay bills, and complete forms via the online portal, in addition to electronic faxing and document management.

Upon release of Amazing Charts Meaningful Use 6.7, practices currently using the Updox platform can continue with the existing portal and will enjoy new features of a more tightly integrated solution with CRM capabilities.

Amazing Charts customers who are not currently using Updox can sign up for the Meaningful Use portal at no cost. Amazing Charts is making this feature available early to give practices a head start toward qualifying for Stage Two of Meaningful Use.

With this partnership, Amazing Charts joins the 30 other EHRs who are using the Updox platform for building communications, workflow and messaging solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase revenues.
