MGMA Launches Career Center for Job Seekers and Employers in Healthcare Management
Today, MGMA launched an enhanced career center for job seekers and employers in healthcare management. The MGMA Career Center is part of the National Healthcare Career Network (NHCN), which connects job seekers and candidates through an extensive network comprised of more than 340 healthcare associations.
For healthcare management job seekers
Job seekers can search and apply for administrative, executive, quality assurance, risk management, operations and academic positions listed on the MGMA Career Center, as well as access MGMA resources, healthcare industry insights and content.
The Career Center also offers job seekers options for resume review services and a salary calculator, featuring benchmarking data from the MGMA Management Compensation Survey: 2014 Report Based on 2013 Data.
“The MGMA Career Center is a unique resource for practice administrators and executives,” said Laura Palmer, MGMA director of professional development. “In a competitive staffing environment, the MGMA Career Center will serve as a one-stop shop for job seekers and provide tools and resources to advance leaders in the profession.”
For employers recruiting administrative and clinical staff
The MGMA Career Center provides flexible and inexpensive options for listing open positions to assist medical practices in recruiting new employees to their organization. It will also include MGMA resources and content on employee recruitment and retention.
“Medical practice administrators are valuable assets in any healthcare organization,” said Palmer. “Practices are placing a greater value on employing staff with expertise in the business of care delivery and the ability to strategically align the business and clinical functions of the organization. The new MGMA Career Center will be the preeminent industry resource for medical practices looking to recruit highly trained executives and administrative staff.”
Employers recruiting clinicians to their organization can post an open position on the MGMA Career Center and gain broad exposure via the NHCN. The network includes the American Hospital Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Nurses Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
“Building a team that is physician led and professionally managed is crucial to the success of a medical practice,” said Kenneth T. Hertz, FACMPE, principal, MGMA Health Care Consulting Group. “It’s essential to develop and cultivate strong physician/administrator teams that deliver the best patient outcomes. The MGMA Career Center is a resource in building these dynamic, high-functioning teams that serve patients effectively.”
