Dell Services Appoints Dan Allison as Vice President and Global General Manager for Healthcare and Life Sciences
Dell Services announced today that it has named information technology (IT) and business process services industry veteran Dan Allison as vice president and global general manager of the company’s healthcare and life sciences (HCLS) division. In this role, Allison will lead Dell Services’ strategy and engagement with healthcare and life sciences customers, supporting their efforts to improve outcomes through information-enabled care.
With more than 30 years of experience in the IT sector, Allison most recently served as managing director of DEAllison Enterprises LLC, a healthcare and technology consulting firm working with Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms. He also served as a member of the board of directors for Arcadia Healthcare Solutions, an EHR data aggregation and analytics technology company delivering managed care to ambulatory networks taking on value-based risk.
“The opportunity to add Dan’s expertise to our leadership team is a tremendous win for our customers and our employees,” said Suresh Vaswani, president of Dell Services. “His track record in advancing business goals for many of the leading names in our industry is unparalleled and I look forward to the continued growth we will see in this key market under Dan’s direction.”
Allison’s previous roles also include CEO and president of Healthcare Consulting Services for Vitalize Consulting Solutions, an SAIC company; CEO and president of PHNS Dallas, responsible for Healthcare IT and BPO Services; and several senior leadership roles during his 25-year career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS); including Vice President and General Manager where he was responsible for a $7 billion P&L that represented a third of the company’s revenue.
“As a competitor, I have always respected the domain knowledge, integrity and leadership that Perot Systems and Dell Services have built in the healthcare industry,” said Allison. “I’m excited to join the team as we create solutions to help hospitals, health plans, physicians and consumers around the world tackle the challenges presented by the new digital healthcare model.”
Allison attended the University of North Carolina-Asheville and continued his executive development at the University of Michigan, Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and London Business School.
