Sharecare CEO Jeff Arnold to Speak at 4th Annual Health IT Leadership Summit

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 09, 2013 — Leaders and innovators from across the nation will come together on November 12, 2013, at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta for the 4th annual Health IT Leadership Summit. Featured speaker Jeff Arnold, founder of WebMD and current Chairman and CEO of Sharecare, will address “The Inflection Point of Health IT: From Patient Acquisition to Patient Engagement.”

Arnold is well versed on the topics of patient acquisition and engagement, having founded WebMD in 1998, and Sharecare in 2010 with Dr. Mehmet Oz, in partnership with Harpo Studios, Sony Pictures Television and Discovery Communications. Sharecare is a health and wellness social media platform that connects people with top-ranking experts ranging from doctors and specialists to hospitals, healthcare companies and health-conscious consumers.

“Healthcare is about to significantly transform as more patients enter the system in 2014 through new health insurance coverage,” explains Wayne Myers, COO of Karna and Chairman of the Summit. “It will be exciting to hear from Jeff Arnold, who has already helped transform the industry once through his work with WebMD, and is now actively helping consumers live healthier lives with Sharecare.”

Following Arnold’s presentation, the Summit will offer attendees a full day of informational sessions, exhibits and networking opportunities, focusing on how new care paradigms, patient-centered healthcare and enabling technologies will transform the way healthcare is provided in the next decade under the Healthcare Reform Act. In addition, one qualifying company will be awarded the Summit’s Intel Innovation Award, which recognizes organizations that use technology in innovative ways, demonstrate strong clinical and financial benefits, or find new ways to address specific disease states or improve patient health.
