PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software platform for the senior care market, announced today the availability of Integrated Radiology Results, giving providers the ability to electronically receive radiology test results directly in their electronic health record (EHR). This new capability completes PointClickCare’s integrated results portfolio, marking a significant milestone for the company in its efforts to advance interoperability in the senior care market.
“In long-term care settings, delivering quality of care is dependent on clinicians having secure and timely access to accurate diagnostic information, without compromising compliance,” says Bill McQuaide, chief product officer, PointClickCare. “Integrated Radiology Results will help streamline our customers’ workflows and accelerate clinical decision-making, ensuring residents receive the best possible care at all times.”
PointClickCare collaborated with Liaison Healthcare, an integration and data management solutions company, to develop a solution allowing its U.S. customers to access radiology results from national, regional and local diagnostic testing providers. Radiology results are received electronically as structured data or, depending on service provider, as PDF or a link to an external image viewer.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with PointClickCare by offering quick and accurate access to radiology results,” says Gary Palgon, VP Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions, Liaison Healthcare. “PointClickCare’s Integrated Radiology Results is a significant move to increase efficiency and connectivity in the long-term and post-acute care market. We’re working to integrate PointClickCare clients to the many radiology partners already in our EMR-Link network, and to quickly on-board imaging vendors that are not yet in the EMR-Link network.”
Integrated Radiology Results will not only enhance resident care and eliminate the risks associated with manual error-prone processes, but it will also aid radiology providers who are preparing picture archiving and communication system (PACS) integrations as part of Stage 2 meaningful use readiness.
